Clear Answers for Heart Health
Get straightforward information designed to resolve your cardiac concerns and remove confusion around ECG, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, coronary CT angiography, and cardiac clearance.
You will have a detailed discussion with your cardiologist about your symptoms, medical history, and risk factors. The goal is to identify any cardiac dangers and create a personalized, goal-oriented heart health plan.
No. An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a safe, painless, and first-step procedure. Small electrodes are placed on your skin to record your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. It takes only 5–10 minutes.
Cardiac clearance is a pre-procedure evaluation to ensure any surgery or intervention is performed under the safest possible conditions. It is typically needed for patients with known heart conditions or risk factors who are preparing for non-cardiac surgeries.
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart that can exclude structural heart diseases, including valve problems, chamber enlargement, wall motion abnormalities, and fluid around the heart.
A treadmill stress test checks for stress-induced ischemia (reduced blood flow to the heart) and arrhythmias that may only appear during exercise. It also assesses your overall cardiac functional capacity.
A regular ECG records your heart rhythm for only a few seconds. A 24-hour Holter monitor provides ambulatory monitoring over a full day to try to find intermittent or hidden arrhythmias that come and go.
It is a non-invasive check-up of the coronary arteries using CT scanning and contrast dye. There is no catheter inserted into your arteries. It visualizes plaque, blockages, or anomalies safely and quickly.
The actual scan takes only 5–10 minutes. You may need to arrive early for IV placement and preparation. There is no recovery time, and you can return to normal activities immediately.
Many patients can schedule directly. However, some insurance plans may require a referral from your primary care physician. Contact our office to confirm your specific situation.
Your cardiologist will recommend tests based on your symptoms, risk factors, and goals. The process always begins with a comprehensive consultation to ensure patient-based, careful decision-making.
